Support Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

At Shinjiru, we offer and nurture growth and constantly strive towards becoming the best in the industry. We are a team of over 50 strong facilitating Enterprise and SME clients. Your roles and responsibilities will vary as you will be placed in a rotation program learning all components of the technical side of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshooting complex technical issues in fast-paced data center environment.
Troubleshoot technical support for basic website and email functions in our hosting environments.
Troubleshoot customers’ technical and non-technical issues over the phone, tickets and live chat.
Offer solutions to customers in a clear and concise manner.
Be helpful and patient in directing customers to self-help solutions through our support portals.
Provide a positive customer experience and de-escalate through empathy and care when dealing with customers.
Monitor real-time dashboards and respond accordingly, escalating to senior engineers when needed.
SKILLS
Has a firm understanding of open source software such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.
Is able to quickly and efficiently handle web hosting related issues such as DNS, FTP, PHP-based errors, etc.
Knowledge of the Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP).
Basic familiarity with setting up POP clients (MS Outlook, Eudora, etc.)
Basic knowledge of server hardware, networking, backup/restore.
Linux/UNIX experience.
Windows server experience.
Strong skills and experience with cPanel/WHM.
Strong skills and experience with Plesk.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent.
Required languages: Strong grasp in English is preferred, Bahasa Malaysia.
Will be an advantageous if you have worked in the web hosting industry.
Good communication skills with customers.
Friendly attitude as you are to work in a team environment.
Eager to learn attitude.
Must be willing to work in Kuala Lumpur.
Required to work weekends.
Required to work hours outside of the typical office hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm.
