KUALA LUMPUR 4 JANUARY 2022- Shinjiru Technology Sdn Bhd celebrated the new year by organising a CSR project to assist Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua dan Kanak-Kanak Wilayah Persekutuan by gifting furniture to foster a comfortable living and learning environment.

Shinjiru’s staff and management joined forces to support this CSR Project through monetary donations to purchase furniture such as tables, chairs and 5 tier cabinets for the amenity of 36 individuals living in the shelter.

Elaine Wong, a volunteer of Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua dan Kanak-Kanak Wilayah Persekutuan, stated, “We are extremely appreciative for the donations provided to us by Shinjiru. These tables and chairs will come in handy for the children to study comfortably and provide them with a decent dining area.”

The initiative, which was supposed to be about donating and assembling necessary furniture, transformed into a beautiful learning and bonding experience for the kids and Shinjiru team. The children expressed their gratitude to Shinjiru by drawing adorable sketches of Shinjiru team members.

“It was moving to watch the children interact comfortably, exchange information and learn new things from our staff. It was apparent that the kids were raised in a loving and healthy atmosphere as they were very helpful and respectful towards our staff,” said Shaun Lim, Shinjiru Chief Technology Officer.

Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua dan Kanak-Kanak Wilayah Persekutuan was established in 2015 with the goal of providing a safe haven for children who have been neglected or who do not have guardians or families to look after them.

The founder and his wife began by adopting a few children with their own finances. Their love for children then motivated them to take in more children and help as many children as possible. They currently have 25 children and 11 elderly folks living in peace under the care of five devoted volunteers.

The welfare home, located in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, has monthly expenses of approximately RM 18,000, which includes food, medicine, education, rent, water and electricity, as well as other miscellaneous fees for those living there.
