KUALA LUMPUR 24 DECEMBER 2021- Shinjiru Technology Sdn Bhd, a Web Hosting Company, organised a donation drive to contribute cleaning supplies to help shelter 2500 flood victims seeking refuge in Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Emerald Shah Alam.
The monsoon downpours that began on December 17th have caused major floods and flash floods in a number of Malaysian states, including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Pahang, Perak, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Melaka.
The floods in Malaysia have resulted in a significant death toll as well as property devastation. According to MERCY Malaysia, this is one of Malaysia’s deadliest floods in years and it has impacted over 18,000 families. In addition, the Inspector-General of Police, Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, stated that the flood had claimed the lives of 48 people, with 5 people still missing.
Shaun Lim, Shinjiru Chief Technology Officer, said, “Witnessing the grief and property devastation caused by the recent floods was heartbreaking. As a result, we’ve decided to do our part by organising a donation drive to provide cleaning supplies to flood victims at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Emerald in Shah Alam.”
After receiving sufficient funds on December 23rd, Shinjiru team purchased cleaning supplies according to the requirements of the evacuation centre. They then visited Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Emerald Shah Alam and arranged for the supplies to be delivered on December 24th.
“Despite the fact that we were only able to assist one evacuation centre, this gesture will have a significant impact on the lives and comfort of people who receive our assistance. We aspire to raise awareness by providing assistance and support to those in need during these challenging times,” said Shaun Lim.
“We would like to give a special thanks to Mr Tan Choon Weng for connecting us with Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Emerald and his contribution to the flood victims throughout this critical period,” he added.
