According to the Merriam-webster dictionary, stress is a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work, etc. Stress affects us in many ways and the negative impact can be hazardous and leads to unhealthy and sometimes deadly lifestyle changes. Essential oils can help your body to keep your hormones balanced out and boost your energy level.  It gives a calming effect that helps with stress and anxiety. If you go to any massage parlour, essential oils are commonly used in massage therapies. Don’t have a diffuser? Not a problem. Most essential oils can be rolled onto your body directly or take a couple of drops, rub it against your palms and give them a sniff. You’d be surprised how it can change your mood. Move Your Body

Working from home is the preferred choice for most companies after the pandemic hit us in 2020, and a sedentary lifestyle has been a part of the new normal. But did you know that sitting down at the same position for hours can also contribute to daily stress? Our joints need oiling, and for that to happen, it needs to move. Stretching every 20 to 30 minutes allows your body to ease up a little. When we were kids, we were always encouraged to have a hobby, especially when it came to after school extra-curricular. When we were younger, we had a lot of energy and channeled it to the things we enjoyed doing. But as we grow older, we make less and less time for what we like and want to do due to adulthood’s demands that require us to think about upcoming bills, responsibilities, pending meetups with friends and family and leaves us no room for ourselves. Take 10 minutes of your time today and ask yourself what do you want to do the most? Maybe it’s painting or reading your favourite novel. Or if you are more adventurous, perhaps rock climbing, or you can relearn how to skate like you did when you were 14 years old. Whatever it may be, make time for yourself because stress can slowly be manageable with a cleared mind.

Breathe

Breathing is a compulsory thing we need to do as human beings to live and survive. But do you know that it is also one of the greatest and most powerful way to calm a chaotic mind? Taking deep breaths, meditation, and practising how to count your breathing benefits your body and gives you a better perspective on handling stress. Work can be overwhelming and sometimes you can feel suffocated due to the never-ending tasks, especially when your job requires you to deal with other people. Take a minute or two and focus on deep breathing while closing your eyes. It may sound simple, but you’ll be surprised at how it affects our whole being.
