How The SME Digitalisation Grant Can Help Your Business in Malaysia

June 30, 2021 in Latest News, Shinjiru Tip Sharing by Gabriella Gadung

Are you still wondering if you should apply for the SME Digitalisation Grant? Are you unsure of the application process and what you should use it for? Lucky for you, we’re here to help! Some SMEs already have a website but some are still without one. This blog will help you understand what you can use the SME Grant for, whether you already have a website or not.

What is the SME Digitalisation Grant?

MDEC SME Digitalisation Grant Malaysia Initiative is a matching grant initiative provided by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia to assist Small and Medium Enterprises (“SMEs”) to adopt digitalisation in their business operations. The Government will provide a 50% matching grant of up to RM5,000.00 per SME for 5 years for the subscription of digital services to enhance their productivity and competitiveness.

The Grant covers:

  • Electronic Point of Sale System (e-POS)
  • Human Resource Payroll System (HR) / Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Digital Marketing / Sales
  • Procurement
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Accounting & Taxation
  • Remote Working
  • e-Commerce

Why Should you apply for the SME Digital Grant?

Enhance Your Online Presence

Every business MUST have an online presence. Although most business owners lean towards social media to build their online presence, that alone is not enough. You don’t have much control over your content and you cannot guarantee if the platform you’re using will exist forever. With a website, you get the freedom of posting anything and avoid the risks social media brings. Plus, a website gives your business so much more credibility than solely using social media.

Don’t Miss Out On the 50% Matching Grant

If you already have a website, you probably know that it is way cheaper than renting a physical shop. However, if you don’t have a website yet, you can get it for an even more affordable price with the SME Digitalisation Grant. Let’s say you purchase our WE-BUILD E-COMMERCE PRO Website Design Plan, which is RM2872.00 with the SME Grant. In that case, you’ll only have to pay around RM 1436.00 for a professionally designed website. Exciting, isn’t it?

But what if you already have a website? You can still use the grant to cover your web hosting, SEO Marketing, or even redesign your existing website. We highly recommend you to subscribe to our SEO Marketing Plan if you want to increase your ranking on search engines and generate more traffic to your website.

Stay Ahead of Your Competitors

Every business owner’s goal is to be the best and stay ahead of their competitors. Guess what? You can’t do that if you don’t have a solid online presence.
